Dr.
Don Welsh began serving as minister of the Antelope
Valley
Church in May 1997. Previously he served in the Miami Church
of Religious Science and the Ventura County Church of
Religious
Science beginning in 1988. He was ordained in 1991.
Dr. Don graduated from the Northern California campus of
what is now The Holmes Institute in 1988. He was a student
of Dr.
Robert Scott in San Jose where he became a Licensed Religious
Science Practitioner in 1983. He has been
involved in Science of Mind since 1976, and New Thought since
1968. Dr. Don holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University
of Colorado, where he majored in speech and broadcasting.
He was employed in commercial radio and television, primarily
as an on-air personality, for twenty-three years. He also
owned several businesses related to advertising and media
communications. Dr. Don has
four
adult children, and seven grandchildren. He is active in
the community as well as the larger movement of Science of
Mind,
having served as Secretary of the United church of Religious
Science, President of United Clergy of Religious Science,
Chairman of the Eastern conference, and several other positions.
He has been president of the Antelope Valley Interfaith Council,
active in the local Chambers of Commerce, and a member of
the Advisory Committee for Healthy Homes of the Antelope
Valley
Health Care District.
